The guards are made from an impression of your teeth, so it is a custom fit just for your teeth. The guard is made of plastic and slips right over your teeth on your upper OR lower arch. The guard prevents contact between your upper and lower teeth. In addition to providing cushioning, the nightguard relieves some of the pressure of grinding and clenching, which can damage delicate jaw joints.
Regular dental check ups are important to detect damage early. Dr. Block can diagnose and treat irregular wear on teeth and determine whether a night guard may be beneficial to you.
